Truths About Journalism
Apply to Blogging as Well!

Journalism largely consists of saying 'Lord Jones is Dead' to people who never knew that Lord Jones was alive.

Journalism is popular, but it is popular mainly as fiction. Life is one world, and life seen in the newspapers is another.

In matters of truth the fact that you don't want to publish something is, nine times out of ten, a proof that you ought to publish it.

There's no question that 'journalism' today is pure fiction! It's not news or truth they bring out but 'programming and indoctrination' by distorting, adding to and omitting the truth part.

Today the news is used to inflame public opinion, create enemies for the state and pump up the latest ban on guns or a new war, etc.
Like the book 1984 where they made up attacks and news to keep the public stirred up.

Chesterton had a wicked sense of humor. Enjoy his quotes quite a bit.
